room, galleria
di arte contemporanea e
design a Milano.
Studio
d'artista dal 1982, MC Magma nello specifico è conosciuta
come contemporary project room e design gallery, studio artefice
e promotore di una propria linea artistica indipendente. MC
Magma propone un programma supercontemporaneo
dal 1999, anno della sua fondazione.
Oltre
il proprio progetto per l'arte contemporanea e il design, MC
Magma Studio dopo attente valutazioni, è disponibile
ad eventuali collaborazioni o affiancamenti circoscritti ad una
o più operazioni artistiche o eventi. Oppure è possibile
noleggiarne il solo spazio sotto la modalità prevista
per MC Magma 2°, che adotta sempre altre denominazioni,
tipo "CAMERA BIANCA", diversamente, MC Magma 2°
è anche gestibile senza nome o con un nome a propria scelta,
dove si identificano la temporanea locazione e gli altri eventuali
servizi che ad essa possono essere aggiunti.

Magma 2° offre servizio di organizzazione in forma di supporto
ad un evento o, come detto, semplicemente l'affitto temporaneo
dello spazio, open space multifunzionale di oltre 110 m² totali
a noleggio breve. MC
Magma 2° è un servizio a pagamento e non rientra nel
progetto artistico della galleria d'arte contemporanea MC Magma
Studio e del relativo programma espositivo.

Magma è nello spazio recuperato da una porzione di
un'antica fabbrica milanese che produceva speciali porcellane
per impianti elettrici. E' collocato a livello terra di una caratteristica
corte di fabbrica lombarda, coperta da un rigoglioso vigneto di
uva fragolina. Questo open space dalle ampie finestre in ferro
a tutta altezza, con soffitto di 5 m., è stato restituito alla
contemporaneità da Manlio Caropreso nei primissimi anni
ottanta, 1982, che ne fece il suo studio, all'epoca indubbiamente
tra i primi in zona e dal 1999 attrezzato per eventi particolari,
esposizioni d'arte contemporanea, video produzioni, shooting fotografici
ed altro ancora, volutamente restaurato nell'intento di non stravolgerne
l'originaria vocazione industriale dei primi anni del novecento.
Attrezzato con luci removibili ed orientabili, dispone ovviamente
di servizi igienici, più un piccolo locale cucina, oltre che di
uno spazio espositivo ausiliario o per uso ufficio.

Magma Studio è nella prima e più conosciuta via dedicata al
design a Milano, via Tortona, strada dove il 'Fuori Salone'
è stato lanciato con successo per la prima volta in città,
fuori dalla consueta sede fieristica, durante il Salone Internazionale
del Mobile di Milano. Via Tortona si è così diffusa
nel mondo, come 'Fuori Salone', 'Fuori Salone in Zona Tortona'
o semplicemente 'via Tortona'.

Magma è situata all'inizio di via Tortona al numero
4, tra il ponte di ferro di Porta Genova e via Savona. Siamo
nel cuore del Fuori Salone in via Tortona, l'area più famosa
e creativa del 'Milan Design Week'. Via Tortona è anche
nella zona più caratteristica e vivace di Milano, dove hanno i
loro studi artisti, fotografi, designers, stilisti, grafici e
creativi di ogni genere. Inoltre MC Magma è collocata
nella parte di via Tortona adiacente ai Navigli, con i suoi bar,
pub e ristoranti.

Magma è a meno di 150 metri dal Piazzale di Porta Genova,
dove ci sono tutti i servizi di trasporto pubblici e privati.
Tutte le operazioni
di carico e scarico allo studio sono possibili entrando nel cortile
carrabile di via Tortona 4 sino alla porta d'ingresso a livello
terra di MC Magma Studio.

Magma is a renowned studio, project room, contemporary art
and design gallery in Milan.
Artist's
studio since 1982, the specific character of MC Magma is
to be known as contemporary project room and design gallery. Promoter
and creator studio of its own independent artistic perspective.
MC Magma has been organising supercontemporary
exhibition program since 1999, its founding year.
Beyond
own contemporary art project and design, MC Magma Studio
is available to collaborations and working in concert, after attentive
evaluations, to organize one or more specific art exhibitions
or other events. Although it’s possible to rent only its space
in according at the expected modality MC Magma 2°,
which adopts always other denominations, like "CAMERA BIANCA",
differently MC Magma 2° is manageable without name also
or with another one to choose, in which is inclusive the short
term rental with all the utilities and optional services to add
on request.

Magma 2° offers full support organizzation for any kind of
events, as well to short rentals of the multipurpose open space
of over m² 110. MC Magma 2° is a paying service and it
isn't part of the artistic project of the contemporary art gallery
MC Magma Studio and its concerning program of exhibitions.

Magma Studio is in a portion of an old Milanese factory which
produced special porcelains for electric switches. It's located
at ground level of a typical court of a Lombard factory, covered
by 'fragolina' grapes. This open space with its wide iron windows,
and its height to the ceiling of m.5, has been rescued by Manlio
Caropreso who transformed it into his own studio in the earliest
80s, during which time it was one of the first art studios to
be opened in via Tortona, and since 1999 it has been using for
particular events, contemporary art expositions, video productions,
photography and video sets, etc. The restoration project objective
was to conserve factory former style as it was in the early 19th
century. This open space is served by removable and directional
lights, toilets and a small kitchen, beside an auxiliary space
either exhibitions room or a private office.

Magma Studio is in the first and more known street dedicated
to design in Milan, Via Tortona, street where the 'Fuorisalone'
was successfully launched for the first time in the city, outside
of the usual venue of the trade fair, during the 'International
Furniture Fair in Milan'. Thus via Tortona has spread itself all
around the world either as 'Fuorisalone', 'Fuorisalone in Zona
Tortona' or simply via Tortona.

Magma is located at the begining of the street, at 4 Via Tortona,
between the iron bridge in Porta Genova and Savona Street. We
are in the heart of 'Fuorisalone in Via Tortona', in the most
famous and creative area of 'Milan Design Week'. Tortona Street
is a typical and lively area of Milan where artists, photographers,
designers, fashion designers, graphics designers and creatives
of every genre have their studios. Besides this, MC Magma
is located in the part of Tortona Street contiguous with Navigli
with its bar, pub and restaurant scene.

Magma Studio is less than 150 m from Porta Genova Square where
can be found all public and private transportation services. All
loading and unloading can be done into courtyard area of 4 Tortona
until the main door of MC Magma Studio overlooking at the
ground level.
